1.How is Quidditch played? Quidditch is a fictitious wizarding sport played on broomsticks. It is a popular game among wizards in the series of Harry Potter books by J. K. Rowling. The game is played by two teams of seven people (three Chasers, two Beaters, a Keeper and a Seeker) and involves four balls (a Quaffle, two Bludgers and a Golden Snitch). The Keeper guards the goal posts, the Chasers score goals with the Quaffle, the Beaters keep the Bludgers away from their team, and the Seeker catches the Golden Snitch. The object of the game is to score more points than your opponent. Each goal is worth ten points, and catching the Snitch is worth one hundred and fifty points. The game ends only when the Snitch is caught, or by mutual consent of the two team captains. Unlike the vast majority of Muggle sports, Quidditch is entirely unisex. Men and women play together on teams, with neither sex appearing to dominate the sport. 2. Explain what the Philosopher's Stone is and why Harry wants to find it Harry, Hermione and Ron realise Hagrid gave away how to get past Fluffy, and believe the theft of the Stone is imminent. That night, they go through the trapdoor to get to it first. They negotiate the security system set up by the school's staff, and Harry makes it to the inner chamber. There Harry finds that meek Professor Quirrell, not Snape, is attempting to steal the Stone, and realises that Snape was trying to protect him from harm all along. Harry confronts Quirrell and survives a second encounter with Lord Voldemort, who has been possessing Quirrell (appearing as a ghastly face on the back of Quirrell's head). Quirrell gets blisters when he touches Harry's skin; Dumbledore arrives to rescue Harry. Voldemort then pitilessly abandons Quirrell, who dies as a result of his possession. Dumbledore reveals that Harry's mother died to protect Harry. Her sacrifice of pure love provided Harry an ancient magical protection from Voldemort's lethal spells. Dumbledore also says that the Stone has been destroyed to prevent future attempts by Voldemort to steal it. At the end-of-year feast, the House Points totals are given: Gryffindor is in last place. However, Dumbledore gives a few "last-minute additions", granting points to Harry, Ron, Hermione and Neville, so that Gryffindor becomes champion. Got this off Wikipedia. The 2nd question is from the summary/plot of Wikipedia.
