發問:

I know that the function group of aldhyde -(C=O)- group is named carbonyl group. but what is the name of -(C=O)-O- group coming from ester functional group?

最佳解答:

first, >C=O is NOT aldehyde group. R-C(=O)-H is a kind of compounds called aldehyde (alkanal); R-C(=O)-R' is a kind of compounds called ketone (alkanone); the functional group -C(=O)- is the carbonyl group. is -COO- really "oxycarbonyl"? this may be misleading, as it does not behave like what carbonyl does. well, that's just an ester group, coming from ester. "ester" can be a kind of compound, having structure of R-C(=O)-O-R' where R is H or alkyl, R' is alkyl (but not H). "ester" can also be that characteristic functional group, -C(=O)-O- . 2011-06-02 22:11:34 補充: 剛查了一下, 發覺R-oxycarbonyl 這樣的叫法也是有的, 例如 CH3-O-C(=O)-CH2CH2CH2- , 就叫ethyloxycarbonylpropyl- , CH3-C(=O)-O-CH2CH2CH2- , 就叫ethylcarbonyloxypropyl- 的樣子. 不過, 這只是在命名某大型分子時, 指明side-chain 所用的prefix 前綴; 若只是指那個functional group, 則仍以ester 為宜.

其他解答:

It is named as R-oxycarbonyl group, where R represents an alkyl group
